The Hope of Heaven...

Wow.  Once you haven't posted in  awhile its hard to get up the gumption to post again.  So, I'll just jump in and start writing.

My sweet father-in-law passed away Sunday morning.  He was 91 and had been sick for so long and even though it wasn't a shock, it has been very surreal.

The kids are doing okay.  I think it will hit them later as they go about their everyday activities.  Louis was a very big part of our lives as he lived right next to us in an in-law apartment.  Betty, his wife of 70 years, is still up there and we consider it a privilege to be able to be so close to her.

I can't imagine how Mark feels as I have not lost a parent and I know the days ahead will be hard for him.

We saw lots of family the past few days and it is truly amazing the comfort your family can be.  Just being together was good.

We have been loved on like crazy by the older ladies in Betty's church.  They have bought food, food, and more food to our home and wept with us as they had lost their friend also.

Things will never be the same now and we are just moving day by day to see what the new normal will be and this is truly an opportunity  to show love to each other more and more.

Louis loved the song, "I've Got A Mansion Over the Hilltop" and we sang it at his funeral.  It was strange how it could be joyful and heartbreaking at the same time.  Louis has his mansion now and is with our Saviour.  He is well now.

Thank you God for the hope of heaven.
