Oh, my goodness, I had no idea VA, West VA, and PA were so beautiful. We went through a lot of rolling farmland and it was so pretty. The drive was really a nice part of the trip.
I wish there was some way I could let you in on all we did but it would take forever. Here are a few pics.
We went to the Sight and Sound Theater and saw the musical Joseph. This had nothing to do with the Amish, but if you are ever even close to Lancaster Co. you need to do this.
All of us that went on the trip like to read Amish fiction so we were super-excited when my mom found out that Wanda Brunstetter was going to be doing a book-signing in Bird-In-Hand. You know we were there and it was nice to get to meet her and her husband.
By Tuesday I was ready to get home and see Mark and the children. Mark held down the fort big-time and made it easy for me to leave. He took care of everything while I was gone. Special shout-out thanks to Mrs. Jennifer also. She kept James and Abbie on Tuesday and it seems they had one of "their best days ever" in the words of Abbie.
Also, Jennifer, my children are now ruined for my pearsauce. Abbie said yours is much better, with much more cinnamon. And whats up with the french toast? Matt was requesting french toast like yours this morning. And evidently James is now convinced honey on a spoon doesn't count for real sugar because it is "healthy" sugar. Hmmm...
So, to try and sum it all up...if you get a chance to go to Amish country-go. Loved it!
