James and Abbie just came to me cat-a-whalling because they had gotten into a kicking fight with each other. James kicked Abbie first and she let loose and kicked him back. I'm not sure why an eleven year old would get into a tussle with a five year old, but I realized a couple of children ago not too ask too many questions. She was talked to and then I addressed James about why he proceeded to kick her first.
He lied at first and said he didn't do it. I knew he did though and I kept prodding until he finally admitted,
"I didn't kick her, I just prodded her a little with my foot."
After I regained my composure I explained to him that "prodding with your foot" is the same as kicking and it was not to happen again.
Interesting start to the day.
